A handmade book cover redesign for Jeffrey Eugenides’ The Virgin Suicides. The concept was driven by the book’s themes of adolescence, femininity, deterioration, and impermanence. These themes are visually represented through the cracked and shattered Virgin Mary figurines juxtaposed by a soft, pale pink silk backdrop as well as the custom lipstick handwritten typeface.
