BFI Film Festival
Visual identity created for BFI’s “Films of Fashion” week long screening event. The client requested that the visual language synthesize the theme of the event, which is why I narrowed my focus in on one of the most fundamental stages of fashion design: sketches. This “behind the seams” concept represents the detailed thought, ideation, consideration, and development that goes into couture design.
In addition to the hand sketched elements, black and white images again represent the preliminary planning stage of fashion design. The contrasting passionate red accent brings the work to life, just as a designer’s passion does with his or her designs. A high-fashion magazine inspired typeface paired with a modern sans serif evokes a classy, editorial feel in a more contemporary way that will appeal to the client’s younger target demographic. Event collateral includes a double gate fold brochure, mobile app, film tickets, and staff / media lanyard badges.
